Overview
On May 24th, ASL director Li Liu moderated the main panel discussion in the 2025 Yungang Digital Preservation and Innovation Academic Symposium in Datong, Shanxi. The event was co-hosted by the Yungang Research Institute and the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), with support from the Chinese Society for Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, the China National Committee for the International Society for Digital Earth, the Key Research Base for Yungang Studies of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Shanxi Provincial Key Laboratory for Grotto Temple Preservation and Transmission, and Datong Yungang Digital Technology Co., Ltd.
The symposium brought together experts and scholars from China and abroad in the field of digital preservation of cultural heritage, engaging in in-depth discussions on key topics such as the digital achievements at the Yungang Grottoes, cutting-edge applications of digital technologies in cultural heritage, and experiences in the digital preservation and transmission of cultural legacies.
