Jingbo Li is a Ph.D. candidate in Chinese Archaeology, from the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. She is interested in foodways in early China and ancient alcohol production and consumption. Her recent research focuses on the transdynastic food and foodways in the Bronze Age of China, based on two ancient capitals in North China: Yinxu and Zhouyuan. Using residue and isotopic evidence, she is exploring the status-related food and alcohol practice in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties.

 

Before studying at Stanford, she obtained her M.A of Conservation of Cultural Heritage from Northwest University, and her B.Sc. in Technology of Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the same university. She participated fieldwork in several museums and archaeological sites such as Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum in China, the Bibracte site in France, and the Arboretum Chinese Labor Quarters site at Stanford.
