My current research focuses on plant archaeology and experimental archaeology, with a specific interest in understanding how fibers were produced and utilized during the Neolithic Age. I analyze the remains of ancient Chinese hemp textile materials, concentrating primarily on the Yellow River Basin. By comparing textile remains from different civilizations within this region, my goal is to investigate the production models of the Neolithic textile industry and examine the relationship between textile production and the development of social complexity. At Stanford, I aim to deepen my archaeological expertise by acquiring advanced knowledge and experimental techniques. Additionally, I seek to engage in more fieldwork opportunities to enhance my research. Prior to joining Stanford, I received my BA in anthropology and psychology from the University of California, Davis, where I also participated in several archaeological fieldwork projects in Xi'an, China.
